IND vs NZ 3rd ODI Match Preview: After taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series, India may look to make some changes in their playing XI for the third and final ODI. . India will be looking for a 3-0 clean sweep against New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Tuesday. After the 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka, India will not want to let their spirits down in yet another match.
New Zealand, on the other hand, will have one last chance to save their face in Indore and a win could boost their confidence ahead of the three T20Is against India, where Mitchell Santner will lead the side.
India may make some changes in the bowling department to manage the workload of the bowlers in the ODI World Cup year. Fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj, the heroes of India’s eight-wicket win in Raipur, could be given a break in Indore. Both Shami and Siraj will play a key role in the four-Test series against Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from February 9.
In batting, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma are doing the bulk of the scoring for the hosts. Virat Kohli will be keen to rectify his record against left-arm spin while Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav will be keen to score runs. If there is a change in the Indore ODI, then Rajat Patidar can make his international debut on his home ground.
Meanwhile, New Zealand will also be eager to get their first win on the tour of India. For that to happen, the batting line-up, especially the top order will have to score runs in a big way in Indore.
Their only impressive batsmen in the series have been Santner and Michael Bracewell, who almost took New Zealand to victory in Hyderabad and both tried to revive the innings after a top-order collapse in Raipur.
He has scope to perform better with the ball. The pitch at the Holkar Stadium is generally batting friendly and with short boundaries, fans can expect a high-scoring match on Tuesday.
