74th Republic Day: India is going to celebrate its 74th Republic Day on 26 January. This year’s Republic Day will be special because the guests coming here will also be special. Workers working on the Central Vista project and duty path, rickshaw pullers, milkmen and handcart specials have been included in the list of one thousand guests on this Republic Day.
According to the news agency ANI, a senior Defense Ministry official has said on this matter that special efforts have been made for those who do not get a chance to see the Republic Day celebrations. This year again people from all walks of life have been invited to the Republic Day celebrations on the path of duty. These will include one thousand special persons including Central Vista project workers, duty path maintenance workers, vegetable vendors, rickshaw pullers, small grocery shop owners, milkmen and eight teams of school band competition finalists.

Apart from these people, people from tribal communities, Divyangjan, Veer Gatha winners have also been included in the list of guests on this Republic Day. Along with this, Egyptian and Japanese delegations, participants of the Interpol Young Global Police Leaders Programme, children from Delhi government schools and others have also been invited to the Republic Day parade. Last year, autorickshaw drivers, construction workers, sanitation workers and frontline workers were on the list.
Decline in the number of visitors due to Corona
Another Defense Ministry official said that due to Kovid restrictions, the number of visitors has come down significantly this year. For the safety of visitors, only two vaccinators have been allowed to attend and guests in the enclosures have been requested to maintain 6 feet distance, wear masks and follow other Covid protocols. Apart from this, the Delhi Police has also made elaborate security arrangements.
