Madhya Pradesh Urban Body Election Results: The counting of votes for 19 urban bodies in Madhya Pradesh will be held on Monday. All its preparations have been completed. State Election Commissioner Basant Pratap Singh has told that all preparations have been completed for the counting of votes to be held in 19 urban bodies on January 23. The voting in these urban bodies took place on 20 January. Counting of votes and announcement of election results will be done from 9 am.
The fate of 1144 candidates will be decided
State Election Commission Secretary Rakesh Singh has told that counting of votes will be done in Municipal Council Raghogarh-Vijaypur of Guna district, Barwani, Sendhwa of Barwani district and Dhar, Manawar and Pithampur of Dhar district. Similarly, counting of votes will also be held in Municipal Council Jaithari in Anuppur district, Omkareshwar in Khandwa district, Khetiya, Pansemal, Palsud, Rajpur, Anjad in Barwani district and Municipal Council Dharampuri, Dhamnod, Kukshi, Rajgarh, Sardarpur and Dahi in Dhar district. It has been told that there are 343 wards and 720 polling stations in these urban bodies. A total of 1144 candidates are in the fray.
BJP expels 6 leaders from the party
Let us tell you that nominations were filed from December 30 for the general elections of these urban bodies. Nominations were submitted till January 6 and withdrawal of nominations till January 9. After this, the final list of candidates came out. In the municipal elections held in Dhar, BJP had expelled five of its leaders from the party for 6 years. All these leaders were contesting against the authorized candidates of the party.
Election results will be important for assembly elections
It may be noted that assembly elections are to be held in Madhya Pradesh this year. In terms of elections, the results of civic elections matter a lot for both Congress and BJP parties. A victory in these elections would be a show of strength before the elections for any party.
