Republic Day: For the first time, women camel riders of BSF will be seen in the parade, the uniform will be special

BSF Mahila Camel Riders in Republic Day 2023 Parade: Parade to be held on the occasion of 74th Republic Day (Republic Day 2023) on January 26 at Kartavya Path in the capital Delhi. 16 marching contingents from the Armed Forces, Central Paramilitary Forces, Delhi Police, National Cadet Corps and NSS along with 19 military pipe and drum bands are participating in this year’s Republic Day parade.

So many women were selected for the camel squad

According to the report, 24 women were trained in camel riding, out of which 12 have been selected to participate in the parade. BSF camel squad commander MS Khichi told that these women had earlier also participated in the BSF’s Raising Day Parade.

The uniform is made special

The women involved in the camel squad belong to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Special royal uniforms have been designed for women soldiers, in which the crafts of India have been engraved. The uniforms have been assembled by renowned fashion designers. These include the iconic Jodhpuri bandhgala, which lends a classic look.

According to BSF, hand zardozi work has been done on the uniforms through 400 years old Danka technique. The uniform also includes the special turban worn in Mewar, Rajasthan.
