IMD Weather Update: Amidst the severe cold in the northern states of the country, it rained on Tuesday (January 24) in many places. After which the winter has increased further. Along with this, snowfall is also continuing in the hilly areas. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of snowfall with heavy rain in the western Himalayan region and rain in the plains of northwest India during the next 2 days.
According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of 27 January. The department said that in the last 24 hours, there has been light rain/snowfall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Also light rain has occurred at some places of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry.
Chance of rain in these areas
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh on 25th. Along with this, there is also a possibility of light rain and drizzle at some places in Delhi. Hailstorm is also likely in parts of Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh on January 25.
How’s the temperature?
Talking about the temperature, there is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature in most parts of North West India till 26th. After this, there is a possibility of a fall of 2-3°C for 2 days and an increase of 3-5°C for the next 2 days. No significant change in minimum temperatures likely over rest of country during next 4-5 days.
