Joshimath landslide: Becoming a mother is the happiest moment in every woman’s life, but pregnant women in Joshimath are worried about not only their future but also their unborn child’s future. At the same time, the difficulties of the people of Joshimath are not taking the name of reducing. Every day a new problem arises in front of them. The city is affected by the disaster, due to which the women who are due to give birth in the next one month are the most worried.
In the midst of the disaster, neither doctors nor necessary facilities are available in the health centers of Joshimath. However, in this difficult time, the health department is helping women in every possible way. Care is being taken that they do not become victims of depression. Women doctors are boosting their morale. The delivery of pregnant women will be done in Gopeshwar. There are currently 84 pregnant women living in the entire Joshimath, out of which 18 women are due to deliver by February 15. Three ambulances and 108 service ambulance have been deployed round the clock for safe delivery.
Continuous counseling of pregnant women
Arrangements have been made to shift the obstetricians directly to Sub District Hospital, Karnaprayag and District Hospital, Gopshwar. The situation has also become difficult because there is neither a surgeon nor a female doctor in the health center of Joshimath. Ultrasound facility is also not available. In-charge of the Community Health Center, Dr. Jyotsna Naithwal said that most of the pregnant women in Joshimath city are from families whose houses have come under the influence of landslides. Counseling of pregnant women is being done continuously in the disaster affected area. If any pregnant woman has any problem, arrangements have been made to take her directly to Karnaprayag or Gopeshwar.
