Emergency landing of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s helicopter in Tamil Nadu due to bad weather

Helicopter Emergency Landing: A helicopter carrying Art Of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar landed at Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu’s Erode district on Wednesday (January 25) morning due to bad weather. (STR) made an emergency landing at Ukiniyam, a tribal settlement. Kadambur police, who reached the spot, said that Ravi Shankar and four other people in the helicopter were safe.

According to media reports, Sri Sri Ravishankar was going from Bengaluru to Tiruppur in a private helicopter along with four other people. Due to extreme fog and bad weather, the helicopter had to make an emergency landing at 10.40 am on Wednesday. At about 11:30 am, after a 50-minute wait, the sky had cleared and the helicopter took off again.

What did the police say?

Kadambur Police Inspector C Vadivel Kumar said, "When the helicopter was flying over STR at around 10.15 am, the pilot could not proceed due to bad weather. The pilot made an emergency landing at Ukinium."
