Social media platform Facebook’s parent company ‘Meta’ restored former President Donald Trump’s account on Wednesday (January 25) after two years of suspension.
Facebook suspended Donald Trump’s account on January 7, 2021, following the attack on the US Parliament complex i.e. Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021.

Former US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts have been restored by ‘Meta’, ending a two-year suspension imposed in the wake of the Capitol riots. Facebook’s parent company Meta announced the decision through a blog post, saying the public should be able to hear what their politicians are saying.

Social networking giant ‘Meta’ announced on Tuesday that it will soon restore the accounts of former US President Donald Trump on Facebook and Instagram. In a statement, Meta’s President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg said, "We will soon restore Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts."
