Delhi: Getting a license to serve food in the open or on the terrace has become easier, hotel owners will have to do this work

Delhi Hotel-Restaurant News: Municipal Corporation of Delhi has taken a special initiative for the convenience of restaurant and hotel traders under ‘Ease of Doing Business’. and has made online the facility of obtaining license for serving food in open areas, terrace or terrace. Interested traders can apply online for the license on the MCD portal. For this, the applicant will have to visit the official website of MCD and upload all relevant documents in PDF format as per the guidelines given, as well as submit the prescribed fee through online mode. Apart from this, the entire process of granting license from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will also be completed through online medium only.

The applicant has to submit legal occupancy and/or no objection certificate from the respective owner of the land for using the open space or terrace as food service area. Use of open space or terraces in front of other shops in the building will not be allowed. A building structural safety certificate from a registered structural engineer has to be submitted and an indemnity bond has to be submitted by the applicant.

Know how much the annual fee has to be paid?

Apart from this, the existing norms of fire safety will be applicable. The annual license fee for open space or terrace or portion of terrace shall be Rs.200 per sq.ft. and in case of star hotels (4 star and above) the annual license fee shall be Rs.500 per sq.ft. Keeping in mind the convenience of the people, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has started this facility, after which it is believed that this can accelerate the business of Hotel-Restaurant in Delhi.
