Basant Panchami Katha
According to the religious and mythological story of Basant Panchami, when Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe created the world, everything was visible to the trees, plants and animals, but he was missing something. To make up for this deficiency, he sprinkled water from his Kamandal and a goddess appeared in the form of a beautiful woman.
He had a Veena in one hand and a book in the other. Garland was in the third and the fourth hand was in groom’s posture. This goddess was Mother Saraswati. When Maa Saraswati played Veena, everything in the world got a tone. That’s why she got her name Goddess Saraswati. It was the day of Basant Panchami. Since then the worship of Mother Saraswati started.
