Method of Saraswati Puja
On the day of Basant Panchami, wake up early in the morning and wear clean clothes after taking bath. If possible, wear yellow clothes on this day. Now clean the worship temple or place of worship and purify this place by sprinkling Gangajal. Spread a yellow colored cloth on the Pooja Chowki and install the idol or photo of Goddess Saraswati.

Be sure to keep the idol of Lord Ganesha next to Goddess Saraswati. Also keep your books or art related things near the post. Fill water in an urn and put five pieces of mango leaves in it and put coconut on top. Apply turmeric and kumkum tilak to Goddess Saraswati. Garland of yellow flowers and offer clothes. Along with this, worship Lord Ganesha as well.

Offer Akshat, fruits, betel nuts and bhog etc. in worship and then light incense-lamps. Chant Saraswati Mantra with folded hands. Now finally do aarti and take blessings. It is also auspicious to worship Saraswati on this day. Distribute bhog after the puja is over.

According to Pandit Suresh Shrimali, Basant Panchami is on 25th or 26th. Basant Panchami is on Thursday 26 January 2023 only. Because in Sanatan Dharma every festival is celebrated according to Udayatithi. And Panchami Tithi will start from 12.34 pm on January 25 and will end on Thursday, January 26 at 10.28 am, so according to Udayatithi, Basant Panchami will be celebrated on January 26.
